Where does the data come from and how often is it updated?

What you will find here

Each incident shows its type (Road closed, Accident, Congestion, Obstruction, Weather…), the road and kilometre point, the town and region, the affected direction and since when it applies. Incidents marked as scheduled have not started yet: they are closures announced in advance, sporting events or roadworks.

State roads and toll-free motorways come from the road directorates' (DIR) DATEX II feed. On toll motorways we take the concession operators' events (ASF, APRR, Sanef, Escota, Cofiroute…) from Bison Futé's national summaries; their position is derived from kilometre markers, so it may be approximate.

Data sources

The data comes from official sources (Bison Futé / DIR, Bison Futé / CNIR — autoroutes concédées). GasBu does not change the content of the incidents; it only classifies them and translates the codes of the European DATEX II standard.
