Fuel prices in Lithuania: what you should know

Official prices from the Lithuanian Energy Agency

Prices of petrol and diesel in Lithuania come from the Lithuanian Energy Agency (Lietuvos energetikos agentūra, LEA). Since 8 April 2026, every filling station has to report to LEA by 10:00 each working day the prices valid at 10:00, and some networks also send their changes during the day. The primary source of each price is the company operating the station – GasBu shows it next to the price.

Stricter rules on the way

LEA is preparing mandatory reporting within 30 minutes of every price change, and a rule is being discussed under which stations could raise prices only once a day, at 10:00 – similar to the noon rule in Austria and Germany. Until then, a station that reports only in the morning may have changed its price later in the day.

What makes up the price

The price consists of the wholesale price, excise duty – a fixed amount per litre – and VAT. The differences between counties are small, usually a few cents per litre; the differences between networks and individual stations are larger.

Where to fill up for less

Besides the big international networks, Lithuania has many smaller local chains and independent stations, which are often cheaper. The ranking of networks on this page shows which chains are currently the cheapest in Lithuania, so it is worth comparing the stations around you before filling up.

What today's data shows

Diesel is currently €0.278 per litre more expensive than Petrol 95 on average (€2.263 vs €1.985). Among chains with at least 8 stations, Jozita is the cheapest: its median diesel price of €2.170 is €0.099 below the national median. The largest network, Viada with 139 stations, sells diesel €0.080 above the median.
